The
Methodist Theological School
Description
of effort –NetGain
Design greatly increased a client’s web site visibility
in popular search engines.
Problem
- The Methodist Theological School in Ohio (MTSO),
a highly-respected seminary located in Delaware, Ohio, needed
to make their school’s web site more accessible to potential
students. Forty percent (40%) of students find out about
the school through its web site. An astounding ninety
percent (90%) of students refer to the web site during the recruiting
process. The ability to be easily “found”
is a fundamental aspect for preserving MTSO’s tradition
of promoting a rich variety of students.
Solution
- Through careful understanding of MTSO’s goals
and target audience, NetGain helped them restructure their web
site so that it would be “search engine-friendly.”
This did not involve recreating the web site from scratch.
Instead MTSO was able to emphasize the key characteristics that
search engines, such as Google and MSN, use in their results.
Benefit
- Search engine visibility has increased markedly.
In all of the significant key word areas, MTSO is shown on the
first page of results. Traffic to the site is higher.
Now NetGain is working with MTSO to monitor rankings over time
and stay up to date with changes in the search engine landscape.
